Today is the very first day of this Navratri that will end in 9 days and this Navratri celebration is then followed by Dussehra or Vijaydashmi on 30 of September. The celebrations related to this religious festival started around the whole country and all these festivities will last till 29th of september. The Navaratri celebration marks the 9 days which is very auspicious during which the Goddess Durga is worshipped by people in many parts of India in order to seek blessings from her. Many of the people are observed doing fasts during these days in order to show their respect towards goddess Durga by denouncing worldly pleasures.

There are some of the fasting rules that each person who desired to go for fasting should have to follow during these 9 days. Some of the food items that include grains, common salt, non vegetarian food, alcohol etc should be avoided strictly. But there are also some of the food items available that all people can enjoy eating during fasting in Navratri days. We have given a list of food items with their description that will help you know what you can eat during your Navartri fasting days. By going through these points you will come to know that fasting can also be enjoyable by eating delicious food items even in your days of fast.

Swaang or Sama Rice
You can go for Sama rice during your fasting days during Navratri as you can make many delicious dishes using this rice like pulao or sinful kheer. It is not a type of grain but it is considered as a type of seed. As we know that grains are not allowed to eat in these days, so you can eat the dishes made from these rice. You can make many dishes like sama rice kheer, sama khichdi, sama dhokla, saa idli etc. You can make all the same dishes that you can make with the normal rice that we use s daily. You can even go for sama salad including your favorite vegetables.

Sabudana (Tapioca)
The ingredianet that shows their versatility by becoming useful in all types of dishes like khichdi, kheer, chips and vada is, one and only Sabudana. You can make khichdi from this Sabudana and then serve it with curd and also make chips and vada using it and serving it with delicious coriander chutney or sauce.

Buchwheat Flour or Kuttu ka Atta
This flour type is the most common and popular ingredient used by most of the people during Navratri dyas. You can make puri, kachori, dosa, parantha and also pakode using this flour. The dishes that are made using this ingredient can result in drying up your mouth. So, it is recommended to serve these dishes with a bowl of curd.

Potatoes
This vegetable is the most important and highly used during Navratri. You can also go for dishes that are made using only potatoes like jeera aloo , normal aloo sabzi with poori and much more that has the only ingredient potato in it. Being a very versatile ingredient or vegetable, you can also try your hands by making kachoris and tikkis using it.

Nuts and Raisins
You can also eat all types of dry fruits and nuts like almonds, raisins, cashew nuts etc. You can also add them simply into your all dishes of Nvaratri to give dishes nutty and rich flavor. Including them into the dishes make you not losing the important and essential nutrients that you will need for the whole day.

Fresh Fruits
You can also include all type of fruits into your Navrati fasting days. The fresh seasonal fruits are the best option to have a health food diet during fasting days. Easting these fresh fruits keep you revitalized during the whole day. You can chop all the fruits in a bowl and make them like a chaat to have a delicious taste into it.

Tea and Coffee
You can also have option in beverages during your days of fast like coffee and tea. You have to make sure about that you should not take more than 2 to 3 cups in a day as it might result in causing acidity and many other stomach related issues.
