Arun Jaitley on Temporary Life Support at AIIMS

Update: After a prolonged illness, Arun Jaitley at AIIMS Passed away on 24th August in Delhi. May his soul Rest in Peace

Arun Jaitley, getting treatment and feeling ill for a long time is on temporary life support. AIIMS has not released any press bulletin on Jaitley’s health since his admission. Mr Arun Jaitley, 66 years old admitted into the hospital on the 9th of August. He got hospitalized because of the breathing problem and restlessness. Same day Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah visited the hospital to inquire of his health.

Former Finance Minster due to illness did not fight the 2019 Lok Sabha election held in April. He also doesn’t acquire any position in recently formed new Modi government giving health reasons. After the sudden demise of former foreign minister late Sushma Swaraj Ji, he expressed his grief on Twitter. But Mr Jaitley did not visit the crematorium which also raises questions on his health. Mr Jaitley who is suffering from diabetes in 2019 diagnosed with the rarer form of soft tissue sarcoma. For which he had sought treatment in New York. Since then his health is deteriorating.

On Sunday, several Union ministers including Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani and Jitendra Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited AIIMS enquiring his health. Besides the many other BJP leaders including health minister Harsh Vardhan visiting him. As the chaos is mounting up people of the country are worried about his health.

A PTI (Press Trust of India) report on a later evening conveyed

“ Mr Jaitley is on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), an advanced form of temporary life support to aid respiratory and cardiac function”
