Split AC or Window AC

During summer we are all tired of the heat and we need a escape from heat to relax our body and mind. Air conditioners come into play during this time. Air conditioners are available in 2 versions : Split unit or Window unit.

The main difference between the two is that Split AC have 2 separate parts and indoor unit to be cooled and outdoor unit is left on roof whereas the Window have a single unit the outdoor unit is combined with indoor unit. Other main difference is that Split AC are very efficient and save electricity where as window AC are bit noisy and use more electricity. But this has become irrelevant these days both versions have 5 star rating options available and save a lot of electricity.

How should you choose AC for yourself?

It depends on many factors like the size of the room, number of people, windows, sunlight facing, etc. Showrooms also helping you to choose your best one.

Window AC as name suggests are fitted into windows can be noisy sometimes but the cooling is really fast.

The major benefit of split AC is it fit anywhere in walls, very silent and cool large rooms with ease. Split ac have additional features like bad odor removal, silent operation, wifi enabled AC, 10 year warranty on motor, germ removal etc.

So which one should you get?

Split AC are expensive as compared to Window AC which are much cheaper and easy to install. Both require annual service so that they can work efficiently and it can cost between 500 to 2000 or more if any repairs are needed. Basic service is cheap and take less than half hour.

If you have good budget go for split AC as you can have additional features. If on tight budget for go 5 star window AC. Star rating should be kept in mind as in long term it will save a lot of money. Once you will spend 3000 or 4000 more but later every year it will save more money than this.
