While we are relieved to have survived the October heat, we need to take a second look to the after effects of the same on our skin.
Face and body tan is a nuisance now that we are into the festive season and before you get to some serious polishing, we have some home remedies using natural ingredients from the kitchen to help you remove those dark patches and tans successfully.
Buttermilk and Oats – Take one tbsp. oatmeal and mix some buttermilk to make a smooth paste. Apply as needed and wash off after 20 minutes. This pack exfoliates the skin while removing dull skin.
Coconut water – Take some fresh coconut water and apply it on tanned areas to get soft and bright skin.
Cucumber juice – Take equal amounts of rose water cucumber juice, and few drops of lime juice. Mix well and apply it on the tanned skin. Rinse off after half an hour.
Curds – Take one cup of plain curds with juice of one cucumber and one tomato. Add in half a cup of gram flour and mix well. Apply it on the tanned areas and leave for 45 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
Gram Flour – Make paste of gram flour with water and apply on affected parts and leave it on the skin for at least 20 minutes. Rinse off and try to use it twice a week.
Honey and lemon juice – To two tbsp of honey, add in few drops of lemon juice. Apply this mixture on the tanned areas and leave for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water. For best results, try this remedy twice a day.
Milk powder – Make a paste of milk powder, honey, almond oil and lemon juice. Leave this mixture on skin for 20 minutes and then wash with cold water. For best results use it thrice a day.
Sugar and lemon – Make a mixture of one tsp of sugar and lemon juice. Rub it on the affected areas and leave for half an hour. It will act as a scrub removing all the dullness while also giving you a clear, glowing skin.
Potato – A natural bleach, potato soothes sunburn. Peel potatoes, cut in small pieces and blend. Apply the paste on face and other areas of tanned skin and keep for 30 minutes. Wash off with normal water.
Turmeric – Take a pinch of turmeric and mix in some lemon juice and raw milk. Apply this mixture and leave till it is completely dry. Rinse and see the results.
