Gayatri Mantra, Divine and Spiritual Experience of AUM (ओउ्म् )

Gayatri mantra is a highly revered chant in Hinduism. It is a set of words dedicated to “Savitri” goddesses of five elements, therefore, it is also known as Savitri Mantra. Saint (ऋषि ) Vishvamitra is the one who created this chant and was mentioned in Rig Veda although it is traceable in most of the Vedic text and post-Vedic text. According to the Hindu text and information available online it is stated that Gayatri mantra has importance significance equals to ॐ.

In Hinduism it is considered as a scientific formula belongs to the whole humanity. It has a particular wavelength and aura which left a deep effect on body and mind.

“Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha,
Tat Savitur Varenyam,
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi,
Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat .”

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं |
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ||

ॐ (om) means an existence which is pervasive and obsolete.
ॐ: परब्रह्मा का अभिवाच्य शब्द

Bhur means earth
भूलोक

Bhuva means the environment around us, galaxy
भुवः : अंतरिक्ष लोक

Swaha means the universe
स्वः : स्वर्गलोक

Tat means existence, all at taking the same oxygen; no one is superior or inferior
त : परमात्मा अथवा ब्रह्म

Savitur Varenyam means ultimate power merging into oneself or able to acquire
सवितुः वरेण्यम: ईश्वर अथवा सृष्टि कर्ता पूजनीय

Bhargo Devasya means divine embodiment destroyer of evil
भर्गः: अज्ञान तथा पाप निवारक
देवस्य : ज्ञान स्वरुप भगवान का

Dhimahi means enlighten one’s mind so that he/she walks on the path of compassion and love.
धीमहि : हम ध्यान करते है

Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat means we pray to almighty that our mind flourishes and expand and understand the true meaning of our existence.

प्रचोदयात्: प्रकाशित करें।

अर्थ: : हम ईश्वर की महिमा का ध्यान करते हैं, जिसने इस संसार को उत्पन्न किया है, जो पूजनीय है, जो ज्ञान का भंडार है, जो पापों तथा अज्ञान की दूर करने वाला हैं- वह हमें प्रकाश दिखाए और हमें सत्य पथ पर ले जाए।
