With the Winter Session of the Parliament beginning on Thursday, the first Constitution Day, Narendra Modi expressed his hope for the legislative process and highlighted the need to spread awareness about the Constitution.
“Debate is the soul of Parliament and we are hopeful that we can fulfil people’s expectations in Parliament this Winter Session,” said Modi as he addressed the media outside Parliament House. “I am sure that with good thoughts, debate, and new innovative ideas, the Parliament will shine within the way it is shining outside,” he added, referring to the building being lit up for the occasion of Constitution Day.
“I’m confident we all MPs will leave no stone unturned to match upto expectations of people of nation,” ANI quoted Modi as saying.
Modi also impressed upon the importance of the Constitution, saying, “Our Constitution is a ray of hope, a beacon of light. When I say hope, I mean H for Harmony, O for opportunity, P for people’s participation, E for equality.”
