Priyanka Chopra wins for ‘Quantico’ at People’s Choice Awards

Bollywood actress and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra has thanked her fans after winning Favourite Actress in a New TV series award at the People’s Choice Awards 2016 for her role in American TV thriller series Quantico.

“I am so fortunate! Thank U to everyone who voted for me at the #PCAs! My #PCManiacs-I am nothing without you! Big love,” tweeted Priyanka.

The 33-year-old, who plays the role of an FBI agent named Alex Parish in the show, on Wednesday night was competing against actresses like Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele and Marcia Gay Harden in the category.

Priyanka donned a glittering gold and silver dress designed by American fashion designer Vera Wang at the awards gala. Her makeup was done by Stephanie Barnes.

“It’s my first year in America. And to come to another country, and actually to get this kind of acceptance, I guess what America is all about. Thank you all for accepting me. My mom, my manager, cast and crew, writers, ABC, everyone, I’m just really overwhelmed, ” she said in her acceptance speech.

Before the awards, the actress was a bundle of nerves. “LA LA land bound! @peopleschoice tomorrow! Strange that I have nerves! 1st nomination in another country I guess! Wish me luck!! @QuanticoTV,” Priyanka had tweeted on Tuesday night.
