Notorious criminal Sunny Baba held in Pathankot

The J&K Police today arrested notorious criminal Sunny Choudhary, alias Sunny Baba, at J&K-Punjab border in Pathankot, opposite Lakhanpur toll post, this morning along his accomplice Avneet Singh.

Sunny Baba had fled from Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital on August 22 and the J&K Police had launched a hunt to nab him.

Commending the performance of his team of officers, led by Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu, Uttam Chand said the police had received a tip-off about the presence of Sunny Baba in the Pathankot area.

“After reaching the particular place, we couldn’t find Baba, but we continued the search operation. While he was on way to Lakhanpur, the police party nabbed him along with his accomplice,” Chand said.

Baba gave some tough time to the police during the arrest and tried to escape, but he was overpowered by the police team. Sunny Baba was allegedly involved in the Amandeep murder case and has also been involved in 12 other cases registered in different police stations.

The SSP said after fleeing from GMCH, Jammu, Sunny stayed in the Badhi area of Himachal Pradesh. “He was on a continuous run after fleeing from Jammu and the police were after him. We are investigating every aspect as who helped him in fleeing from the hospital and who gave him shelter,” the SSP said.
