Nav Bharat Ekta Dal national president P C Vishvakarma, along with party state office bearers, today visited the home of martyr Jagdish Chand at his native village Bassa, to present an award of honour termed as Lion of India posthumously.

Havildar Jagdish Chand had laid his life, while fighting the terrorists at Pathankot airbase on January 2, this year.

Vishvakarma presented the award to the wife of the martyr and said that Jagdish Chand laid his life and made a supreme sacrifice for his nation, while protecting the integrity of the country.

He said that Guru Gobind Singh had described martyrs like Jagdish Chand fearless and brave hero of India.

The Dal demanded that kucha road leading to the martyrs village be made concrete and named after martyr Jagdish Chand. The party also demanded that the Government Senior Secondary School at Gola be named after the martyr.

Vishvakarma demanded financial aid to the martyrs widow and to the family.
