Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Prices Reduced, A ‘Limited Edition’ Model to Debut at 2016 Auto Expo

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross

Prices of Maruti S Cross have been reduced by around Rs 2.05 lakh to make it a competitive offering. With an aim to counterbalance the impact of currency depreciation and raising costs, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has decided to reduce the prices of its premium crossover. This will also help the carmaker to re-position the vehicle as a more competitive option against Hyundai Creta and other rivals. The company is reported to sell over 17,000 units of the vehicle so far.

Besides this, the Indo-Japanese automaker is also planning to bring in a ‘limited edition’ of the S-Cross that will be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo next month. Just so you know, MSI had launched the S-Cross Premia special edition at Rs. 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the 1.3L Delta variant, the Maruti S-Cross Premia is being made available only in tier I cities including Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad. This special edition comes with four major accessories – a Garmin 5-inch navigation system, reverse parking assist with a camera, fog lamps and alloy wheels. While, the regular Delta trim is equipped with standard audio system with a CD player and a remote and steel wheels with full wheel caps.

Though, the overall design and equipment of the S-Cross Premia edition remain unchanged. Since it’s just a special edition, no mechanical changes have been made to the vehicle. This special edition is powered by the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Similar to the regular models, the Maruti S-Cross Premia is sold exclusively via Maruti’s premium Nexa dealerships.
