The film started it’s shoot on 7th August 2015 and is now in it’s post production phase.

The horn blow singer who has made a mark for himself in the music industry with his unique singing style and off course his concept based videos is all set to rock the big screen after a gap of nearly 2 years.

This film supposedly has a £1m budget and was shot for 22 days in Birmingham and 10 days in India. A lot of local talent from UK has been used in it. Directed by the Birmingham based Mumbaikar, Gaurav Bavdankar, Mera Mahi NRI is the story of a young man nicknamed Sherry (Hardy Sandhu), who lives in a small town and wants to get married to his sweetheart. But the girl’s mother wants her to marry a Non Resident Indian, so Sherry decides to move to England to study at Birmingham Royal College. There he meets Mandy (Rameet Sandhu)and whether this duo gets hitched or not is for us to find out when the movie releases.

Last year this movie was much in news when nearly 100 dancers crowded into Birmingham’s Victoria square to take part in the flashmob and be part of this Punjabi film. Led by professional group Gabhru Panjab De (GPD) Bhangra Dancers, this one was quite a sight to watch.

By the way, the leading lady in this film is a newbie, singer turned actor Rameet Kaur who had also won the Miss India Scotland title in the year 2013. She is a trained actor cum dancer and has been around in the music scene for quite some time. We will also see Gurpreet Ghuggi playing a prominent character in the film.
