Kareena Kapoor Saif Ali Khan over baby name Taimur

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were blessed with a son in the early hours of Tuesday morning at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. While the youngest nawab of the famous family is only a few hours old, proud daddy Saif has already revealed that the couple had named their little bundle of joy Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. But the internet wasn’t so pleased by the new parents’ choice.

Similar to when Britain’s royal couple had said their one-day-old baby was named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, some netizens felt Saif and Kareena’s baby name was just too long. “#SaifAliKhan and #KareenaKapoorKhan names baby Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. Too big a name for a day old baby and 140 character tweet,” one person wrote. Another person added, “Somewhere between saying his full name Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi grew up!” We can’t begrudge the trolls there. Taimur can practically learn half of the alphabets just by spelling his own name.

Others thought it was a bit too old-fashioned in a day and age where every name is shortened to some anglicized nickname anyway. Twitter had comments like, “Taimur Ali Khan? Guess Aurangzeb or Khalil Sultan was already taken?” and, “Taimur Ali Khan sounds like a Mughal emperor.”

And then there were the people who just didn’t like the sound of the name, tweeting, “Please guys stop mocking the kid. His parents already took care of that by naming him Taimur Ali Khan,” and, “Why Bebo why?? You could have googled for better names.”
