However the call got disconnected, after that the family is still unable to find anything about their son.

On Friday the bail hearing of 27 arrested students and faculty members of HCU has been postponed to Monday. After the arrest of 27 members of HCU the officials at the varsity has been grafting a searing new chapter to the controversy that has besieged the campus since Rohit Vemula, a PhD scholar hanged himself in his hostel in January.

Lawyers fighting for bail of students had claimed that they were beaten up by the police while they were protesting at the university campus on Tuesday. Some of the Muslim students arrested by the police were called as “Pakistanis”. However the cops refused to comment on the issue.

After HCU Vice Chancellor Appa Rao Podile resumed office on Tuesday after almost two months, students protesting over suicide of Vemula held Appa Rao hostage at his office for almost six hours and damaged property.

The students were protesting Rao’s return to work. He went on leave after students angry over Vemula’s suicide protested in anger. Rohit Vemula in his suicide note had mentioned that nobody should be held responsible for his death. However a month before committing suicide he had outlined Rao over allegedly being discriminated against him because he was a Dalit.
