How to make mug hug at home

Keep your hot drinks warm with a mug hug

Here’s how to make one in 8 easy steps

You will need :
Measure your mug circumference and height.Use the circumference measurement as the fabric length, and the height of the cup (minus 1cm) for the width. Lining the same size
Repositionable spray fabric adhesive
Sewing machine, thread and free motion foot
Fabric scissors
Iron
Erasable pen
Hand sewing needle
Fuse the waddingbatting to the back of the fabric.

Cut out teardrop bird shapes from the three scrap pieces of fabric.Spray with a little adhesive, and place at angles on the outer fabric. Draw the legs, wings, plumes, beaks and eyes with erasable pen.

Put the free motion foot on your sewing machine, drop the feed dogs and outline the details you drew in pen, with free-motion stitching. It looks better if you outline about three times.

Erase the ink and press.

On the right side of the fabric, sew the elastic hair bungee to the centre of one short side, facing inwards. Then place the fabric and lining wrong sides together.

Apply the bias binding around the edges.

Top stitch over the bungee so it now faces outwards. Sew the button the opposite side.
