Honda Cars India (HCI) had introduced a new top trim, called the VX (O), in the model lineup in early 2015. Available in both, petrol and diesel versions, the new trim was slotted above the VX manual grade. Availability of a new white orchid pearling colour and a new touch-screen infotainment system make this trim more feature-rich than the VX trim. The infotainment system has a 15.7cm large touch-screen with new audio visual navigation device. The infotainment system also supports hand-free Bluetooth connectivity which allows a user to sync his phone with it and do all the phone activities with the help of touch-screen such as dialling, answering calls and checking address book.

Just so you know, the City, currently, is the top-selling Honda car model in India. Launched in January 2015, the car has already sold over 1 lakh units ever since its launch, which makes it the fastest car to achieve 1 lakh sales mark in its segment.

Exterior and Interior Design

Based on Honda’s global design philosophy of “EXCITING H!!!”, the new Honda City carries ‘sleek crossmotion’ exterior and ‘layered floating cockpit’ interior. The front fog lamps, large headlights, chrome door handles, alloy wheels, sunroof, foldable ORVMs with turn blinker, shark-fin antenna along with several styling elements show how feature rich the City has become in its fourth generation. Honda increased its ground clearance, which is now measured at 165mm. The interior styling is all inspired from the layered Floating Cockpit. Honda has increased the wheelbase of the new City by 60mm to 2600mm that makes it more spacious and comfortable from inside.

As mentioned above, the new VX (O) BL and VX (O) trims also get an all new infotainment system with audio visual navigation device.

The base and mid-level variants are integrated with a four speaker music system. There is an instrument cluster with the ‘Econ’ light setting, a touch screen AC panel and a start-stop button. Insulated with several sound insulation system material, the all new City offers a pleasing driving experience. As far as safety features are concerned, the new Honda City 2016 gets dual SRS airbags, rear ISOFIX and top tether anchor for child seats as standard features across all trims.
