Govinda obeys SC order, apologises for slapping a fan

Govinda

Bollywood actor Govinda had slapped commoner Santosh Ray on the sets of ‘Money Hai Toh Honey Hai’ at Filmistan Studio in 2008 for allegedly misbehaving on the sets.

Now, following the order of the Supreme Court, the actor has finally apologized for his act, as reported by Times Now.

Ray had filed a case against the actor in the Bombay High Court. “I was just watching the shooting of a movie as I was his fan. But the incident left me shocked and I lost all respect for him,” he had told Hindustan Times. However, the court had quashed his case in 2013, stating that Ray had filed a case a year after the incident, making it look like he was instigated to act against the actor.

Ray then moved to the Supreme Court of India in 2015.

The court agreed to hear his plea and issued Govinda a notice. Initially, Ray had sought criminal proceedings against the actor, but his lawyer later told the court that his client would be satisfied with an apology, as stated by media reports.
