Ford Mustang to launch in India on July 13

Ford India is all geared up to launch the new Mustang in India on July 13. The pony car made its world premiere at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, while the car also made its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo, earlier this year. For the first time the Ford Mustang has been developed as right-hand-drive vehicle. Needless to say, the car will be imported via CBU route. It is expected to get a price tag between Rs 60 lakh to 65 lakh.

Speaking of the exterior, it gets a new styling with sleek fastback look that exudes class and sporty performance. It features traditional HID headlamps and LED tri-bar taillamps with sequential turn signals as standard exterior features. Moreover, it also features power dome hood, deck spoiler, LED taillights, stainless steel twin exhaust rolled tips and large 17 inch coloured aluminium wheels. The new Mustang also gets new independent rear suspension (IRS) system that has been developed specifically for the new model.

In terms of features, the pony boasts of Blind Spot Information System, which detects a vehicle at a blind spot via a radar and alerts with an indicator in the appropriate exterior mirror, 3-point safety belt restraint system for all seating positions, Belt-Minder front safety belt reminder, Driver’s knee airbag, Dual front airbags, Front-seat side-impact airbags, Personal Safety System for driver and front passenger, Rear view camera, SOS Post-Crash Alert System, Illuminated entry and more.

In India, the Ford Mustang will be power packed with a 5.0-litre V8 engine that is capable to crank out 439PS of maximum power and 540Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission.
