Filmfare Awards: Ranveer’s sweet whispers for Deepika

Filmfare Awards

At the recent Filmfare Awards SLB’s Peshwa Bajirao stole the show with his real life Mastani. Both bagged the coveted Black Lady, having been adjudged Best Actor for ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and Best Actress for ‘Piku’. As they posed with their trophies, their families seated together in the second row, in perfect harmony, cheered. The loudest, Ranveer’s sister Ritika and Deepika’s sister Anisha.

It was an emotional moment for ‘Piku’ as she read out a letter from her father, badminton ace, Prakash Padukone, “If you love what you do nothing else matters, not even awards. Follow your heart and live your dream. You are our daughter first and then an actress.” As tears streamed down, her beau rubbed his cheek against hers in a reassuring, romantic gesture.

Ranveer who’d won his first Filmfare Award for Best Debutant five years ago, was also emotional. He bent to touch Deepika’s parents, Prakash and Ujjala’s feet, after getting a hug from his own father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and mom Anju. His sister and Deepika’s got jhappis, and so did ‘Piku’. He whispered something sweet into her ear before going on stage. Later, the winsome twosome held hands and posed for the cameras.
