Eye on Punjab, AAP to hard sell ‘Delhi model’

AAP Party

With its gaze fixed on the Assembly polls in Punjab next year, the Aam Aadmi Party in its fifth national council meeting on Wednesday is set to adopt a resolution to spread the word about its “Delhi model of governance” across the country and hold out a promise to replicate it in Punjab.

The draft of one of the key resolutions reads: “In Delhi we have maintained the trust of the people. In little more than a year, the AAP government is fulfilling its promises and setting new standards of clean and effective governance…a fresh prototype of administration has emerged, the Delhi model of governance… it is now up to the party to spread the word to every nook and corner of the country…We resolve to deepen our party organisation and communicate the Delhi model of governance to the rest of India.”

The party plans to capitalise on recent issues like Uttarakhand crisis, JNU protests to corner the BJP-led central government.

“The central government has revealed its agenda, no longer development but divide and rule…BJP is at war with students, farmers, traders, jewellers, women, government employees and others…Intolerance of BJP government has extended to non-BJP governments, first in Arunachal Pradesh and then in Uttarakhand, the BJP tried to form governments through the backdoor,” read the draft resolution.

The national council is set to resolve to be the “voice of the unheard and provide a platform for those classes suffering because of the arrogance and ignorance of Narendra Modi”.
