Dushman is a story of two men, an indian and a Pakistani national who meet abroad and turn from foes to friends for life.

A lot of debuts being made with Dushman, that of actor Jashan Singh as well the film’s director Shagufta Rafique.

Starring Kartar Cheema, Jashan Singh, Gulshan Grover and Sakshi Gulati in lead roles, this film seems to be an interesting twist of tales and that too of those who are divided by political borders.

Though the trailer couldn’t provoke much in me but well, lets see if these actors can prove their caliber in the full fledged film.

Kartar looks impressive and seems to have come a long way in terms of his acting skills.
Jashan, being a debutante, still has to prove himself, though he looks calm on screen.
We can see the Mahesh Bhatt touch in Shagufta’s direction.

The movie seems to have dropped the clichéd comedy one-liners which are found in nearly all the Punjabi movies.
Shagufta’s experimental first attempt is risky yet applaudable. Let’s wait till we find out what exactly the full film looks like before we can comment any further.

The world seems to be going crazy over political borders and this subject, if treated right, could touch the right chords towards improvement.

Sakshi plays a girl who’s life changes from being a club dancer to a director.
The background music is soulful and I am expecting good tracks from this movie.
Though Priyanka Chopra’s Sarvann turned out to be a box office pooper but we sincerely hope that Mahesh Bhatt’s first Punjabi movie Dushman sets the bar high for all the other production houses and B-town film makers who wish to enter Punjabi industry.

Dushman is produced by Vinay Bhardwaj and is Written & Directed by Shagufta Rafique. This one is scheduled for release on 3rd March 2017.
