He has also hinted at another “important announcement at 5 pm”.

Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has referred Mr Mishra’s allegation to the anti-corruption branch (ACB) of the police to investigate.

Mr Mishra this morning went to the ACB – just a few km from Mr Kejriwal’s official home – and told reporters he had shared all the information that he had.

The 36-year-old has alleged that he saw Mr Kejriwal accepting the money from Satyendar Jain, the health minister of Delhi. He also alleged that Mr Jain informed him about “settling land deals worth Rs. 50 crore for Kejriwal’s relative”.

Mr Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has rejected the allegation, with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia calling it a “joke”.

Mr Mishra said, “I want that Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendar Jain and I should undergo a lie-detector test.”

Mr Mishra is considered close to Kumar Vishwas, the AAP leader who almost quit the party last week as an internal feud boiled over just after the party’s disastrous performance in the recent civil elections in the capital.

Like Mr Vishwas, he was one of the few AAP leaders who had contradicted the party’s stand, blaming Electronic Voting Machines for its humiliating defeat in the municipal elections.
