Air Force organises ultra marathon from Pathankot station

As part of the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war commemoration, the Indian Air Force on Wednesday organised an ultra marathon which would conclude on September 20.

The marathon started from the local air force station in which 49 air warriors from various units participated in its first leg. A team of air warriors under group captain VS Chaudhary and squadron leader Gayathri will complete the event covering a total distance of 574 km, a press release said.

12 participants will complete the run for 50 km till Dasuya and 30 participants will complete the run for 10 km it said. The marathon which commenced at 0615hrs today from Air Force Station Pathankot will culminate at Air Force Station Hindon on 19 of this month the release further added. The administration is being taken care by the Air Force Adventure Wing.

Air Commodore JS Dhamoon, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Pathankot flagged off the first leg of this run from Air Force Station Pathankot to Dasuya. He also ran with the participants to boost up their enthusiasm.
