The Ministry of External Affairs has sought a detailed report from the police on the issue of a diplomat, working at the Saudi embassy, was booked for sexually assaulting two girls in Gurgaon.

This came after two women from Nepal, reportedly a mother-daughter duo, were rescued by the police from the diplomat’s home in Gurgaon.

Speaking to CNN-IBN, the victims alleged that while they were employed as domestic help by the diplomat, they were sexually assaulted and kept in bondage. The wife and the daughter of the Saudi diplomat have also been booked for torturing them.

The incident came to light after the victims informed an NGO which in turn reported the matter to the police.

Meanwhile, speaking about the issue, the Ministry of External Affairs said that it was in touch with the Saudi Arabian authorities to look into the matter. “We are looking into the matter. We have sought a detailed report from the police and are in touch with the Saudi Arabia mission,” said the ministry.
