CHANDIGARH: Punjab police has registered a rape case against controversial former Gurdaspur superintendent of police Salwinder Singh. The FIR was registered at Gurdaspur on Wednesday following a two-year-old complaint against him by the husband of a rape survivor. At present, he is posted as 75 Battalion commandant in Jalandhar.
This is the first FIR against the SP who had hit the headlines in January after he was waylaid and abducted in his official vehicle along with his cook and a jeweler friend by the four Pakistani terrorists who had attacked the Pathankot airbase+ . Police have also slapped corruption charges against him.
