The second day of Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam at Erravelli village attracted nearly one lakh devotees, especially women who participated in ‘Kunkumarchana’ at a special enclosure.
The rituals began around 9.30 am with Guru Prarthana by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his wife Shobha.
A representative from Sringeri Peetham Narahari Subramanya Bhat conducted the rituals along with priests Gopi Krishna Sarma, Phani Shashanka Sharma and Harinatha Sharma. Later, recitation of Sapthashathi 2,000 times, 30 lakh Navarana Pooja, Shathushasti Yogini Bali and Maha Ganapathi Pooja, among others, were conducted.
Union ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya, Supreme Court Judge Justice Chalameshwara, He tero Drugs chairman Parthasarathi Reddy, Yashoda Hospital chairman Surender Rao and others participated in the rituals. Sringeri seer Vidhusekhara Bharathi Maha Swamy father Kuppa Shiva Subramanyam and his grand-father Kuppal Gopala Vajpayee Yaji blessed the chief minister.
Among those who attended the yagam on Thursday were families of deputy chief minister Mohd Mahmood Ali and MLA Stephenson.
