The Miss Universe pageant will crown a new international winner on Sunday, months after the annual beauty show was thrust into controversy when then-co-owner Donald Trump made disparaging remarks about immigrants.
Contestants representing more than 80 countries will compete in Las Vegas at the 64th edition of the pageant. For the first time, viewers will have a chance to vote on the winner, rating each contestant in the swimwear, evening gown and interview competitions.
The pagent is being hosted by comedian Steve Harvey. Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo, American football legend, and winner of 2006 Dancing With the Stars Emmitt Smith, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, and TV personality Niecy Nash are judging the pageant.
Miss India Urvashi Rautela failed to make it to top 15 semi-finals round, reports Fox news.
The top three contestants are Miss Universe USA Olivia Jordon, Miss Universe Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez and Miss Universe Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
