A recall of a large number of Maserati vehicles sold in Australia is underway after it was found the floor mats could pose a danger.

Affecting both Maserati Quattroporte and Maserati Ghibli vehicles, the recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

The ACCC recall notice advising that the accelerator pedal could become entrapped by the floor mat in any operating position.

If the accelerator pedal becomes entrapped, this may result in a serious accident causing injury to the operator or passers-by.

You can check to see if your Maserati vehicle is affected by the recall here (have your VIN ready) and further information, as well as inspections and rectification of the issue, by way of the installation of new floor mats, can be obtained from authorised Maserati dealerships.
