After a bitter battle for the custody of children, the actress Karisma Kapoor is all set to get a divorce from her husband Sanjay Kapur this March end. Karisma and Sanjay had got married in 2003 and in 2014, after the couple had two kids, their marriage turned sour.
Karisma moved to Delhi to start her married life with the businessman Sanjay Kapur. However, in 2014, the actress began frequenting her visits to her home, and both the parties decided mutually to file for a divorce.
The fact that there were visible cracks in their married life became public soon and then began a long and bitter battle for financial settlement. Karisma had filed for dowry harassment against Sanjay Kapur who had also retorted by stating that Karisma was after his money. Now this Tuesday finally before the Supreme Court, the two parties have agreed to settle the matter once and for all by 31, March 2016.
Senior counsel Mahesh Jethmalani who is representing her has said that since Sanjay-Karisma’s children’s birthdays fall on 11th and 12th March, Sanjay would be allowed to visit them during those days at the parties in Mumbai.
In fact, just for being a part of the birthdays of the children, the divorce has been kept at the end of this month. While Sanjay had badmouthed Karisma and her entire family for not allowing him or his ailing father to be with his children, Randhir Kapoor has stood strongly on ground insisting that Sanjay has been a bad man.
All in all, the two parties have agreed to the divorce amicably, and few terms are yet to be signed.
During her life in Delhi, Karisma had totally cut off herself with her film career and had even stopped acting. However, when she decided to get back to work, she did a comeback movie.
