A local court in Indore on Friday directed actor Aamir Khan, film director Raju Hirani and script writer Abhijeet Singh to appear before the court for controversial content and dialogue in the film PK.
Additional sessions judge, BS Rawat issued the directions following a review petition alleging that PK had hurt the religious sentiments of the people. Lalji Gore had filed a petition before the local court in Indore in June 2014 under Sections 295, 298 (deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person) of IPC alleging that the movie had many scenes which humiliated gods and goddesses and made fun of the religious beliefs of the people.
Advocate Mukesh Deval said in September 2015, that the court had rejected the petition on the ground that the censor board had certified the movie. Following this, they filed a revision petition before ADJ court on the ground that the censor board is not the court and requested action against actor Aamir Khan, director of the movie Raju Hirani and script writer Abhijeet Singh and the then censor board chairman Leela Samson. “After hearing our appeal, the court has directed everyone to appear before court by November 16,” said Deval.
