
With ICC T20 the biggest event going on in the country and every cricket fan glued to the television, going for a holiday, a family dinner or clubbing is something that most cricket enthusiasts are avoiding. However, if you really want to spend time with your cricket-crazy partner or friends, then hosting a cricket party is the best thing to do. Here’s how.
Convert your living room into a pitch Mark various sections of your living room with chalk, so that it resembles the pitch put up posters of famous players. Name different sections of your house as the cricket field like the square leg, mid-field, cover drive, fine leg etc. You can go a tad bit ahead and also arrange a few cheer girls for the sixes and fours.
Cricket-themed dress code Make sure you keep a proper dress code for the party, if its India that’s planning for the day, then it has to be the Bleed Blue jersey that everyone has to done. However, if its any other team, then make sure your friends wear the colour of the team that they are supporting.
Arrange cricket-themed music, food and drinks What’s a party without some foot-tapping music, opt for inspirational songs from sports based movies like Lagaan, Iqbal, Ferrari Ki Sawari, Patiala House etc to keep people motivated and energetic throughout. Also, make sure you have enough sports drinks and cocktails that look like sports drinks or beer as spirits. Ball-shaped cup cakes, bat-shaped chili cheese toasts and french fries are some ideas you can use.
Post-match game sessionThis should be the most interesting part of the party, make sure you plan it at least a day or two in advance. Plan some sports quizzes and games like name the captain of this team, or match the player with the team, or lay out jerseys and then tell your friends to identity the team, etc. Also, you can keep some small return gifts for the winners.
