While tributes are pouring in for Veenu Paliwal -India’s ace woman biker killed in a road accident in Vidisha district – 100 km from Bhopal, on Monday evening, a panel of four doctors who conducted autopsy concluded that she died due to a blunt abdominal trauma rupturing liver.
Fellow biker Dipesh Tanwar had alleged that Paliwal’s death was due to administration of a wrong injection at a government facility in Gyaraspur. She was 44 and is survived by her two children.
“The impact ruptured her liver and, though her only visible injuries were a bruise and a scratch, she died of profuse internal bleeding,” said Dr B L Aarya, chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Vidisha.
The team of doctors which conducted post-mortem comprised of Dr Rajkumar Verma, Dr Neha Jain, Dr R K Sahu and Dr R L Singh.
Dr Arya said line of treatment chosen by the doctor at Gyaraspur primary health centre (PHC) was perfectly alright. District superintendent of police (SP) D S Chaudhary had asked Dr Arya to ensure that her post-mortem is conducted by a team of specialists and be video recorded.
“Her friend alleged that death was due to administration of a wrong injection by the doctor who attended her immediately after the mishap so autopsy was done by a team of doctors,” Chaudhary told TOI. We have got a short report which suggests that her death was due to liver burst, he said.
He said the incident took place at around 4 pm near Bagrod square- and area under jurisdiction of Seonda police station located 70 kilometres from the Vidisha district headquarters on NH86. Paliwal’s skidded off at a steep turn and fell into a culvert.
