Amitabh Bachchan is certainly going to have busy 2016. Currently, shooting for Sujoy Ghosh’s film in Kolkata, he has also reunited with Shoojit Sircar for a social thriller. This time, though Shoojit comes as a producer of the film and it will be directed by National Award winning Bengali director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. Aniruddha has made the award-winning Bangla films Anuranan((2006) and Antaheen (2009).
Confirming these developments Shoojit who directed the Big B in the hugely lauded Piku earlier says, “Yes, I am producing the film that will star Bachchan Saab. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury will direct.It will be in Hindi.”
Shoojit shoots down rumours of approaching Ranbir Kapoor for his next. “I don’t even have an idea of what I’ll direct next. In the meanwhile, I will be helping out Anniruddh with creative inputs.”
What about rumours of a sequel to Piku? Does Shoojit intend to carry forward his love for Kolkata through a sequel?
“I am not ruling out the possibility,” says Shoojit mysteriously.
