Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut’s murky public spat has reached a point where it is hard to discern fiction from fact. A day after a leaked pic of the two Bollywood stars hugging each other went ‘viral,’ with her supporters claiming that it proved an ‘intimate’ relationship between the two, his lawyers have termed the leak an attempt to “camouflage a lie”.
The pic was released through sources on Tuesday morning. By evening, Hrithik’s camp hit back, presenting the ‘full picture’ in the leaked photo controversy. Fresh images from the same party (Krrish’s pre-production party) emerged, which show Hrithik hugging his then wife Sussanne Khan. Other Bollywood celebrities such as actors Arjun Rampal, Dino Morea and filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor were also present.
Actor Hrithik Roshan’s legal team has now slammed the leak, terming it another attempt to “blur the line between what is true and what is concocted”. The two Bollywood stars have filed defamation cases against each other.
“It’s shocking that people can go to these lengths to establish a lie. They are lying and using dangerous ways to camouflage that lie. They are making efforts to blur the line between what is true and what is concocted. Please differentiate between bonafide evidence and a made up arguments,” a lawyer on Hrithik’s team said.
“We will not abandon this struggle just because there is an attempt to muddle up things. We want to know what is their struggle about proving that they have had something to do with our client? What do they want to achieve through that?” the lawyer added.
Meanwhile, Kangana’s advocate Rizwan Siddiquee had said earlier, “We are fed up of dealing with Hrithik’s sources. Let him or his lawyer come forward, and give a proper statement… If Hrithik’s source is saying that the photo has been tampered with, then let the source come out in the open, and make a proper claim… Hrithik claimed not knowing my client even socially. So, I am sure he is looking for a way to wriggle out of the situation…”
What started as a complaint against an alleged imposter by Hrithik has turned into an ugly public and legal battle between the two stars, with both coming up with allegations and counter-allegations against each other almost everyday.
Hrithik, who was the first to send a legal notice to Kangana, has demanded that she apologise in a press conference and clear the air about their alleged affair, which he firmly refutes. Kangana sent a counter-notice to the actor, alleging him of ‘slut-shaming’ by circulating private mails and photos.
