The British Luxury carmaker, Bentley Motors is all set to launch its first-ever SUV – Bentayga – in the Indian market on 22nd April, 2016. First unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Bentley Bentayga is claimed to be the fastest, and most powerful and expensive SUV in the world. Michael Winkler, CEO, Bentley, has confirmed that Queen Elizabeth II will be the first owner of the ultra-luxurious Bentayga SUV.
The Queen of England has already driven one of the prototypes on rugged terrains of her Balmoral estate. Ditching her iconic green Land Rover, the Queen will use the Bentayga for her hunting expeditions. In 2002, Bentley had presented a Bentley State Limousine to the Queen on her Golden Jubilee. She also owns a Bentley Mulsanne.

Coming to the Bentley Bentayga’s looks, this ultra-luxury SUV has been designed, engineered and hand-crafted at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, UK. The Bentley Bentayga looks quite premium and sophisticated with features like large matrix grille, full LED adaptive headlamps with high beam assist, skid plate on lower front bumper, four distinctive floating all-LED head-lamps, bold side creases, a new ‘B’-shaped illumination graphic, B-shaped wing vents, rear haunch and segmented tail lights.

Bentley’s first SUV comes with eight driving modes that enable driver to select the perfect settings for both rough and smooth terrains. What further enhance its on and off-road capabilities are Bentley’s Drive Dynamics Mode and optional Responsive Off-road Setting that offer the widest range drive settings. The new Bentley SUV is also packed with high-tech driving features such as Bentley Dynamic Ride (electrically activated 48V active roll control), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) including Stop & Go, Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS), Traffic Sign Recognition, Predictive ACC and Traffic Assist, Park Assist, Electronic Night Vision and Rear Crossing Traffic Warning.
For comfort and connectivity purpose, there is an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with 60GB HDD, voice control, navigation support and a choice of up to 30 languages, full-leather interior, acoustic IR front screen and acoustic side glass, split-folding heated rear 4+1 seats and panoramic tilt/ slide sunroof with electric blind. The new Bentley SUV will come with multiple personalisation options in exterior paints, interior trim hide and leathers, carpets, handrafted veneers, bespoke Bentayga alloys ranging from 20 to 22-inches, etc.
Bentley Bentayga India – Engine, Transmission & Top Speed
Powering the Bentayga is an all-new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine that produces a whooping power of 600bhp at 5,000rpm- 6,000rpm and 900Nm of torque at 1,350rpm. This 12-cylinder powertrain can mark 100kmph from standstill in just 4.1 seconds, while maintaining a top-speed of 301kmph. With these outstanding power figures, the Bentayga becomes the most powerful and fastest SUV in the world. The SUV comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
