Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film Azhar has been in news ever since it was announced. The makers of Azhar have finally revealed the first motion poster of the film. Emraan took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share it with fans and followers.

In the motion poster, Emraan Hashmi is dressed in blue jersey and resembles Mohammad Azharuddin. He also takes you back to the the match-fixing scandal and tells that he has been accused of it. You can also see the shirts of the players accused of match-fixing along with Azhar like Ajay Jadeja, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Nayan Mongia and Manoj Prabhakar.

On November 27, 2000, Azharuddin was found guilty of match-fixing, while Ajay Jadeja, Manoj Prabhakar and Ajay Sharma were found guilty of having links with bookies. On December 5, 2000, Azharuddin and Ajay Sharma were banned from cricket for life.

In an interview to Hindustan Times, the Murder actor said, “When my friends and family saw this picture, they were shocked. This will shock a lot of people as the story is controversial. Right from the beginning, people have been following Azhar’s life – from the 80s and 90s, when he was on the top of his game to the match-fixing controversy that shook the nation.”

Earlier, the filmmakers also shared the making of Azhar’s character. And interestingly, Mohammad Azharuddin is the one who is helping Emraan with the intricate details of his bating style. Emraan also told the leading daily, “He (Mohammad Azharuddin) was there throughout to help me learn the finer nuances of the game. And now that it’s completed, it is for Azhar to gauge how well I have played him on screen. It is a huge responsibility to play Azhar, especially since he is going to be watching the film.”

Directed by Tony D’Souza, the film also stars Prachi Desai, Gautam Gulati and Nargis Fakhri in the lead roles. Azhar is set to hit the screens on May 13 this year.
