
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his warm wishes to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 91st birthday. Earlier, he also served as the Minister of External Affairs in the cabinet of Morarji Desai.
He was conferred with Bharat Ratna award, India’s highest civilian honour on 27 March 2015. “This is his speciality”, the prime minister said in a series of tweets.
Mr. Modi, who is on a visit to Russian Federation, will return home on December 25, and is likely to drive straight to the former Prime Minister’s residence from the airport, sources said here on Wednesday.
Since coming to power previous year, the Prime Minister Modi led-Government celebrates Vajpayee’s birthday as “Good Governance Day”.
